Six modules covering the full BLS scope of practice. Study all modules, pass the written exam at 80%, complete your psychomotor evaluation and ride-along, and your EMT certification will be issued.

BLS Scope of Practice

As an EMT you can: perform CPR, use an AED, manage airways (OPA/NPA/BVM), administer oxygen, control hemorrhage, assist with nitroglycerin and epinephrine auto-injector, administer oral glucose and aspirin, and perform spinal motion restriction.

You cannot: start IVs, give IV/IM medications (except epi auto-injector), intubate, or perform needle decompression.
